Foliaire is a full-service interior and urban exterior greenscape design/build and service company. Our approach is high-end, high-touch, and highly selective – of the many inquiries we receive to take on exterior landscaping projects, on average, we accept only one in ten. Our Interior division provides recurring monthly service revenue that benefits the company year-round. Our impeccable standards gain us extraordinary customer loyalty – in the Interior division, over fifty of our current customers have been with us for 15 or more years – and some have been with us since Foliaire’s inception.
Paul Lee
Co-founder, has headed up the Exterior division since Foliaire’s inception. He has always had a passion for the field of horticulture. Through practical application and keen observation, he has developed his skill-set to its maximum potential. He is actively involved in the Exterior division’s day-to-day management, and takes a hands-on approach to maintaining consistent standards and quality control. With a keen eye to detail, and an attention to market opportunities, early on, he found a niche in creating and maintaining urban roof gardens, and, over time, has created a strong reputation for excellence in that arena. His first large installation of a roof garden was at the Ritz Carlton Condominiums – which made the cover of Horticulture magazine in June, 1986. Other noteworthy projects include work at Fidelity Investments, and at the Harvard Rowland Institute of Science, in addition to many installations in the Back Bay, Beacon Hill, South End and South Boston.
Our History
Alan Naylor and Paul Lee founded Foliaire in 1981. From the beginning, the emphasis was on delivering superb quality tailored to the client’s individual needs. The Interior division has a strong reputation for quality service in the Boston business community. Foliaire has maintained long-standing relationships with our client base. Over the past 40 years, we have developed a team approach to maintain high standards of service. Every member of the Foliaire team, from Plant Care Technicians to Senior Managers, ensure that our clients receive top-notch materials and unparalleled customer support.
In the Exterior division, Foliaire has a strong track record of successful projects, weathering the tough times, and making good business decisions. In a decidedly seasonal business, over time we have developed ways to manage our crew such that we can remain fully staffed during the off-peak winter months. When the right projects present themselves, we rise to the challenge, regardless of size or complexity. We have a cohort of trusted sub-contractors with whom we can partner to handle specialized and niche facets of large projects.
Constantly innovating to meet the changing times, Foliaire stands by its work. The Exterior division guarantees installations for one year. The Interior division completely guarantees all of its product, period. If any specimen fails or begins to deteriorate for any reason, Foliaire will replace it at no charge. These no-charge replacements are just one of a suite of policies and practices that provide our customers with top quality and maintain our high standards
